Getting Started with BuildInPublic

A quick guide to get started with BuildInPublic. Set up in minutes and begin your Build in Public journey!

Step 1: Create an Account

Create an account from the sign up page. Register with Google, GitHub, or email.

After registration, set up your profile:

• Display Name - Your name or nickname
• Username - Used for your public profile URL
• Avatar - Upload a profile image
• Company/Organization - Your affiliation if any (optional)
• Website - Your website URL (optional)

Step 2: Register a Project

Click "New Project" from the dashboard to register your first project.

• Project Name - Name of your project
• Description - Brief description of what you're building
• Status - Idea, Building, Launched, etc.
• Category - SaaS, Mobile App, AI, etc.
• Tech Stack - Select technologies you're using

Step 3: Post Progress

Post progress updates on your project page. Even small daily progress is fine. Consistency is key!

• Progress - Daily progress reports
• Milestone - Major goal achievements
• Launch - Release announcements
• Feature - New feature additions
• Bug Fix - Bug fix reports

Step 4: Write a Blog

Share detailed content on your dev blog. Technical explanations, lessons learned, failure stories - anything goes. Write articles easily with our Markdown editor.

Step 5: Engage with the Community

Find other builders on Explore and connect through likes and comments. Follow to stay updated on their progress.

Tips

• Posting a little bit every day helps maintain motivation
• Use the X share feature to broadcast to the #BuildInPublic community
• Comment on other builders' posts to expand your network
